Ethnographic Sami complex opened in Tulom
Residents and guests of the Arctic will be able to get acquainted with the unique culture of the indigenous people of the Kola North in the new ethnographic Sami complex in the village of Tuloma.
The complex includes a one-storey building of the Center, made in Scandinavian style. The interior spaces are equipped for creative workshops for the production of Sami handicrafts made of horn, wood and leather, as well as stands for organizing exhibitions.
It offers an equipped kitchen where you can not only taste national Sami dishes, but also take part in master classes on their preparation.
There are 16 lighting poles installed on the territory of the complex, the building itself is illuminated in the form of the Northern lights. There is a wooden fence, pedestrian walkways, benches, small architectural forms representing different types of Sami dwelling: "Tupa", "Vezha", "Kuvaksa".
The highlight of the national open-air museum was a stylized enclosure for deer, in which three growth figures of horned ones settled.
A convenient separate auto-entrance with pedestrian sidewalks, storm sewers and lighting has been made from the federal highway.
"It is planned that the ethnographic Sami complex will be open to tourists from the New Year. A convenient work schedule is being developed now," the official page of the administration of the Kola district VKontakte reported.
The ethnographic Sami complex was created with the support of the Governor of the Murmansk region Andrey Chibis, the construction was implemented within the framework of the regional state program "Public Administration and Civil Society".
