The decision to create a permanent fire-technical exhibition in the capital of the Kola Arctic was made by the Murmansk Regional Executive Committee in 1978, and on January 27, 1983, its grand opening took place in an official setting.

To date, the regional fire and technical exhibition remains a permanent exhibition, the work on replenishment of which is carried out by employees of the Center for Fire Propaganda and Public Relations of the Department for Civil Defense, Protection of the Population from Emergencies and Fire Safety of the Murmansk Region, the museum and exhibition center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Murmansk Region and the Murmansk Regional branch of the All-Russian voluntary fire society.

Now the exposition includes seven halls:

  • "The history of firefighting in Murmansk"
  • "Fire prevention and fire protection"
  • "The consequences of fires. IPL activity"
  • "Reconstruction of the defensive structure of the Cold War period"
  • "Murmansk Region Security Gallery"
  • "Fire creativity"
  • "Fire and rescue equipment"

The equipment and equipment of firefighters of the XIX-XXI century introduces visitors to the exhibition with the history of the development of fire protection not only on the Kola Peninsula, but also in Russia.
It is noteworthy that the interior of the hall "History of firefighting in Murmansk" has been completely preserved since the official opening of the exhibition in 1983.

The exhibition presents unique dioramas of the last century, made by famous Soviet artists. The diorama "Murmansk on June 18, 1942", illustrating the tragic events during the Great Patriotic War, invariably attracts the attention and fascinates visitors to the exhibition, and the diorama "Apartment before and after the fire" is especially loved by young guests. The exhibits presented at the exhibition from real places of fires focus the attention of adults and children on the importance of observing fire safety rules.

You can visit the exhibition only by appointment as part of an organized group or during a weekend excursion. The total number of visitors per session is limited. The visit is free.
