One-day hike to the Khibiny pass Geographers on snowshoes
Add to the journey
Winter Khibiny is beautiful in its own way. Their snow-covered slopes can be admired endlessly. But going far into the mountains in winter is not always comfortable and safe. In the Khibiny there is a great opportunity to visit the mountains, admire their beauty, and by the evening return to civilization.
We suggest you go to the Geographers Pass. Located between the peaks of Takhtarvumchorr and Voodyavrchorr, Geographers Pass is a kind of bridge from Lake Maly Voodyavr to the valley of the Bolshaya Belaya River. The ascent to the pass is stepped. The climb is 650 meters. Before climbing, we will be able to admire an impressive view of the valley of the small Woodyavrchorra.
From here you can see 4 rock circuses at once. Climbing to the top of the pass we will be able to admire:
— ice fountains (underground geysers), which in winter froze in bizarre ice forms
— view of the valley of the small Woodyavchorr from above
— to the snow-covered fields on the other side of the pass and to the top of the majestic Takhtarvumchorr mountain.
