Whales on the shore of Teriberka

One of the main features of Teriberka village is the opportunity to see whales with your own eyes. People come here from all over Russia and even beyond for this unique sight. Usually, in order to meet a whale, ships sail several kilometers from the shore. But did you know that whales in Teriberka “live” even on land?

“Leviathan”

However, on the initiative of Murmansk Region Governor Andrei Vladimirovich Chibis, the skeleton was restored and returned to its place. The art object is made of metal armature and plaster, its length is 28 meters and its weight is more than a ton.

Sperm whale skeleton

This is a real skeleton of a sperm whale that washed ashore near Batarea Falls. The sperm whale is one of the largest extant cetaceans on the planet. Its adult can reach up to 20 meters in length and weigh about 40 tons.

Art object “Oceans”

This art object is called “Oceans” and is a sculpture in the form of whale tails. According to the author of the installation - sculptor Alexander Khromykh, the art object is dedicated to Teriberka and its unique nature.
