The Murmansk Regional Art Museum has opened an exhibition dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the region

In the main building of the regional art Museum, the exhibition "The Murmansk Region in Fine Art" has begun its work. The opening of the exposition is timed to the 85th anniversary of the formation of the Murmansk region.

The exposition of the exhibition brought together more than 50 works of painting, graphics and decorative and applied artThe theme of the exhibition's works is extremely diverse: ancient monuments of Northern architecture, rhythms of everyday work, the history and life of Northerners, the Northern Fleet, portraits of contemporaries, the harsh beauty of native nature.

There are especially many landscapes among the exhibits of the exhibition: lyrical, chamber, industrial. The authors are concerned about the history of the region, the beauty of the Kola Arctic, its expressive nature, past and present.

The collection of works by Murmansk artists occupies a significant place in the museum's collection and gives a fairly complete picture of the development of fine art in the Arctic in the second half of the 20th century.

The exhibition will run until September 10, 2023
