Umba high school students got acquainted with the tourist potential of the region

In all schools of the country, the school week begins with a class hour "Conversations about important things", dedicated to a variety of topics that concern modern children.

As part of the series of meetings "Conversations about important things", on May 22, a lesson on the topic "About happiness" was held at the Secondary School No. 4 of the Umba village of the Tersky district, the guest of which was Olga Kostrova, manager of the front office of the Tourist Information Center of the Murmansk region in the Umba village.

At the meeting, high school students learned about the versatility of professions in the field of tourism, about the attractiveness of tourism in their small homeland – in the Tersk district, and also answered the questions of a thematic quiz. And at the end of the event, young northerners received commemorative souvenir postcards with the symbols of the Murmansk region.

"Today it was very pleasant and important to communicate with representatives of the younger generation, who will soon have to make a choice of profession. Murmansk region and Tersky district are unique places of our Motherland. Staying here and working for the benefit of the native land is a useful and responsible thing. And those who decide to link their activities with the sphere of tourism will represent our region to the whole world in the future and will contribute to the further development of the Murmansk Region in all spheres," Olga Kostrova said.
