Very soon, the Polar Night will come at the latitude of the Kola Peninsula - the time when the sun does not rise above the horizon. It will arrive in Murmansk on December 2 and will last 40 days, until January 10.

The dates of the onset and end of the polar night and its duration in the cities of the Murmansk region differ and depend on geographical latitude.

For example, the polar night in Vidyaevo, Zapolyarnoye and Nickel lasts from November 29 to January 13. In Monchegorsk from December 12 to January 2. In Apatity, the polar night lasts from December 15 to December 27. In Kirovsk from December 14 to December 28. But at the latitude of the Polar Dawns and Kandalaksha, there is no polar night anymore.
