Murmansk region will join the All-Russian action "Night of Museums"

The traditional event dedicated to the International Museum Day will be held throughout Russia on May 21 this year.

The motto of the "Night of Museums" is "More than a museum", and the main theme is the Year of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia.

Murmansk Regional Art Museum

From 17:00 to one o'clock in the morning at all three sites of the Murmansk Regional Art Museum, residents and guests of the capital of the Arctic will be able to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere of the "Night of Museums".

In the main building of the museum, the action will begin with a performance by the chamber choir "Amadeus". Guests will enjoy various master classes, fairs, showing the best collections of the festival of young artists and fashion designers "NaMODnenie".

For the first time, a visiting office of the TIC of the Murmansk region will work at the event, where visitors will learn: where in the Murmansk region it is possible to spend an interesting weekend, try Arctic cuisine, how to get to a photo hunt for whales. They will also be able to take part in the quiz and send a postcard to any corner of Russia for free!

One of the highlights of the "Night of Museums" will be the opening of an exhibition of participants of the project "Seasons of Contemporary Art" and "Cascade" and a performance by young artists. Dead Rave will end the promotion with a DJ set.

In the Cultural and Exhibition Center of the Russian Museum in the Philharmonic Hall The event will be opened by the vocal academic ensemble "Eurydice". Experiments with materials, a performative conversation, excursions and workshops on temporary exhibitions, a historical game, the premiere of a short film and a specially prepared cyberacoustic set by the pop-punk group "Bangkok Postal Service" familiar to many - all this awaits visitors to the Cultural and Exhibition Center.

The Department of Folk Arts and Crafts invites you to the "Night of Museums" to take part in the work of creative workshops, learn about popular folk games and communicate with artists. The performance of soloists of the ensemble of the Spiritual and Educational Center "Blagovest" from Severomorsk will complete the action in the Department of Folk Arts and crafts.

Murmansk Regional Museum of Local Lore

In the Murmansk Regional Museum of Local Lore, the action starts at 18:00 and will last until 02:00. The museum specialists have prepared the most diverse program of events. Demonstration performances of the reenactors' club, a game of laser tag, museum and bus tours and thematic workshops are waiting for Northerners of all ages. Visitors will also be able to test their knowledge on local history dictation, get acquainted with the Chuvash culture and listen to performances of Murmansk musical groups.

A special gift awaits the guests of the action in the Territorial Department of History, Culture and life of the Kola Sami in Lovozero. The specialists of the department prepared the premiere of the museum and theater excursion "The Sami Chronicle". The excursion story will be complemented by a costumed performance that will help our guests immerse themselves in the wonderful world of beliefs, myths, legends and legends of the Sami people. The project of the museum and theater excursion "Sami Chronicle" became possible thanks to the grant support of the Project Office for the Development of the Arctic.

"Exhibition Hall of the city of Murmansk" 

In the Exhibition Hall of the city of Murmansk, the events will begin at 18:00 and last until 21:00.

Guests will be able to take part in master classes: according to the artistic painting "Firebird", according to the sweet design "Scarlet Flower" and a rag toy, which will be held from 18:00 to 19:00.

At 19:00, an interactive musical performance-a master class "About a brave Hare, long ears, oblique eyes, a short tail" will begin, and at 19:30 - a lecture about a fairy tale in fine and decorative arts "Fairy tales walk around the world".

The event will end with a lecture - a master class on book illustration, which will begin at 20:00.

Museum of Fire Protection of Murmansk region & Museum of Fire Protection of Kirovsk

Unique photographs, copies of documents and exhibits will illustrate the development of fire protection in the Murmansk region. Firefighters' combat clothing and equipment, personal respiratory and visual protection equipment, fire-fighting equipment, items from fires and much more will demonstrate the difficult service of firefighters. During the visit to the exhibition, guests will have quizzes and contests.

Visitors of the fire-technical exhibition in Murmansk will be able to get acquainted with fire trucks on combat duty in the 12th fire station, personally communicate with firefighters and ask them questions.

Guests of the museum will also be able to get acquainted with a temporary exhibition of unique badges from the falerist's personal collection.

Museum of the History of the city of Kandalaksha

Russian Russian Project Club exhibition of the trade union and veteran organization of the Kola NPP "Living Traditions in Russian Costume" will be inaugurated at the museum on May 21 at 16.00.

Traditional women's costume is presented: sundresses, kokoshniks, collections and magpies, neck ornaments and armbands. The products are made using gold thread, twine, trunzal, beads, pearls, natural stones and Swarovski.

City Museum of Local History of the city of Polyarny

On the day of the action, museum guests will be able to play games of the indigenous peoples of the North, take part in master classes for big and small, enjoy exhibitions of classical painting and see anime cosplay.

Connoisseurs of good music are invited to the performance of the chamber ensemble "Tuning Fork", and history lovers will be interested in the lecture "Arbuzov Studio (1938-1945) in Moscow and the Polar", which will be conducted by Alexandra Mashukova, theater critic, researcher of the history of the Arbuzov Studio, leading editor of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater Media Center.

During the whole time, the Sovushka cafe will work in the museum, where everyone will be able to taste national dishes from different parts of Russia.

Kovdor Museum of Local Lore

On the day of the action, museum guests will be able to take part in the museum-educational game program "Ice Battle", visit the interactive exhibition "History in a suitcase", eco-master class "Manual stuffing", lecture hall "Tea by Dostoevsky's method" and tea tasting from the tea boutique "Irish".

The final event of the campaign will be the city quiz game "Pioneer Day", which will be held in the Hyperborea cafe.
