A small cozy square with a fountain in the center is located on Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya Street and bears the same name.
The central symbol of the square is the lovers' bench, over which two metal lanterns bent their heads, helpfully holding an improvised umbrella. Opposite the bench is a fountain made in the shape of three petals, its noise masks the sounds of a busy city.
In summer, the park is decorated with greenery, especially in sunny weather, when lilac blooms. The scent of lilac floats through the city, and the square takes on a bright purple appearance.
In 2018, a stele with a bronze sculpture in honor of the legendary Soviet partisan was installed in the squareZoya Kosmodemyanskaya was the first woman awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War. The bronze figure is made according to a sketch by Alexander Arsentiev.
In November 1941, Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya participated in an operation in support of the Red Army's counteroffensive near Moscow, her goal was to destroy an enemy radio station sending interference to the air. During the operation, Zoya was captured and executed by enemy soldiers. She was 18 years old at the time of her death.
