The Murmansk Regional Children's and Youth Library named after V. P. Makhaeva is the largest children's library beyond the Arctic Circle, which has a unique collection of local history literature, an electronic library of rare, handwritten, local history and other publications from the fund, six museums, including the Museum of Children's Handwritten Books, the Northern Museum of Sergei Yesenin.
In front of the library building there is an Alley of Writers, where 8 memorial busts of writers and poets associated with the Murmansk region are installed.
The ground floor is occupied by the newly opened youth center "Bibliodvizhe" – a modern space for young people, where various interesting meetings and events take place, music sounds in the recording studio, young writers and volunteers create, free Internet access via Wi-Fi is open.
The only bibliomobile in the region and the second in Russia – a mobile children's library – travels around Murmansk and the settlements of the region and pleases readers with interesting new unusual publications and bright holidays.
Projects, programs and promotions to promote the book are implemented annually; an international children's handwritten Book competition, an information and pedagogical marathon, master classes, and family holidays are held. This is a place where you are always welcome!

- from Leninsky district – buses No. 10, 18 to the ost. "K. Marx street"; bus No. 27 to the ost. k/t "Murmansk";
- from Pervomaisky district – trolleybus No. 10, buses No. 10, 18, 27 to the east of the captain of the Ram
