Public Museum "Children of the Great Patriotic War"
Add to the journey
The public Museum "Children of the Great Patriotic War" is dedicated to those who met the Great Patriotic War as a child — an entire generation deprived of childhood. It began with a small room in the premises of the club for extracurricular activities "Sputnik", which was located in the house 14 on Lenin Street. It was there that Larisa Batrakova, who in those years worked as a teacher of additional education at school No. 12, placed the first museum exhibits — 90 household items of Soviet people of the 40s.
Later, the Kola MMC also joined. Thanks to the financial support of the Company, the museum premises were renovated and acquired a presentable appearance.
Today, it presents more than 700 exhibition items, collected bit by bit-a record of the stories and stories of war children, archival documents, photographs and letters from the front. In museums, you can book a tour with an experienced guide who will tell you all the most interesting things about this object.
On the basis of the museum, thematic, educational and sightseeing tours are held: "Memory is a connecting thread", "The high feat of motherhood", "Front-line letter-a witness to true history", "Children of besieged Leningrad", "They did not return from the battle" and others.
