Recreation and Health Park "Our Park"
Add to the journey
"Nash Park" is located along the picturesque shore of Lake Pinozero in a pine forest.
For those who enjoy active rest there are sports grounds with exercise equipment, for children - playgrounds.
In summer, the park hosts concerts, kayaking and SUP-boards, orienteering master classes, in winter - the Snow Sculpture Festival, in autumn - a family tourist rally, in spring - Maslenitsa (pancake week). Through the territory of the entire park, winding paths are laid, walking along which you seem to find yourself in a fairy forest, and on the eco trail you will receive comprehensive information about the inhabitants of local forests and lakes: birds, animals, fish and insects.
At any time of the year, the park attracts residents of Polyarnye Zory and guests of the city. Families come here to ride inflatable sledges down the slide, feed tame squirrels and ducks, take pictures with little bear Umka and his mother, and walk along the lake. In the thicket of the forest-park area, the Yeti is hiding; in the Old New Year, children meet with a fairytale hero and receive gifts. A cozy wigwam with a fireplace, where you can relax and warm up by a live fire, is built on the shore.
There are places in the park that are especially significant for the townspeople. For example, a sculpture of Russian Orthodox saints Peter and Fevronia (patrons of marriage and family), who protect love.
The center of attraction of the park is considered to be Atom-Ostrov with a transparent geo-dome in the center and orbital paths surrounding it. Film screenings are held under the arches of an unusual modern building. On the territory of the Atom Island there is an exposition of minerals mined on the Kola Peninsula. By a bridge literally floating in the air, Atom-Ostrov is connected to Sport-Ostorov, where one of the best skate parks in the region, a pamprack for rollerblading and BMX bicycles, a petanque playground are built, game elements and swing are installed. There is also the newest city sports facility - the Sports and Recreation Complex.
