Hyperborean star Map
Add to the journey
In the vicinity of Mount Payoyva (Artemis) are parts of the map of the starry sky of the time of Hyperborea. Vaguely resembles part of the modern constellation of Orion. According to ancient Greek mythology, Orion was the son of Poseidon and Euryale and was killed by the arrows of the goddess Artemis, the patroness of Hyperborea. There is a hypothesis that this map corresponds to the state of the starry sky in the period of 4 thousand years BC-the time of the Egyptian pyramids.
The place is difficult to reach: fifty kilometers from the city of Kovdor on forest roads, through endless swamps and a web of rivers and streams. Not every jeep will be able to pass even part of this route. Then a walking route, another five kilometers through the wild tundra. There are no roads or paths around, only animal tracks, including bear tracks.
