The Murmansk Regional Drama Theater has been operating since 1939. The repertoire of the theater is very diverse and includes both performances for adults and for children.
The birthday of the drama theater is considered to be February 1, 1939, when the brothers Tur and Lev Shein staged the play "Consul General". In the early years, the actors did not have their own theater house, and they played on the stage of the Kirov Recreation Center.
The repertoire of the theater includes Russian and foreign classics, modern drama. A special place is occupied by performances for children's audiences. One of the latest premieres for children is the musical fairy tale "Bremen Town Musicians", for an older viewer: "... Will we live like gods?...", "Rock—n-roll at sunset", "Poverty is not a vice", "The Mad Woman from Chaillot", "The White Cloud of Genghis Khan" and others.
In total – more than 40 performances, of which: 16 performances of the main stage, 14 – small, 12 – performances for children. The theater produces 6 premieres annually.
Over the years , the troupe has managed to tour in different cities from Petrozavodsk to Moscow. And the drama theater itself often receives guests: ballet, visiting performances, opera and musicals are performed on its stage, celebrities, for example, the Safronov brothers, Olga Kormukhina, perform concerts.
