In 1957, the miners' club was put into operation, later called the House, and then the Palace of Culture. Today it has lost its departmental affiliation, but has not ceased to be a Palace. On the contrary, it is the center of the city's cultural life.
It was here in 1964 that the premiere of the famous movie fairy tale "Morozko" took place, on which more than one generation of Russians grew up. So, the film crew, led by Alexander Rowe, thanked the Olenegorsk people who helped in the filming. The history that makes the city akin to the legendary film is remembered. Every year in Olenegorsk, the festival of the New Year's fairy tale "Morozko" is held, the guests of which are famous fairy-tale heroes from all over Russia.
