Chapel of St. George the Victorious
Add to the journey
- The chapel was built in 2000 as a gift to the garrison from the residents of Kostroma. The chapel was built on the hill of the garrison, on Zarechnaya Street. The families of the submariners who died on the Kursk still live in the houses on this street, and the house of the boat's commander, Gennady Lyachin, also stands here.
- The chapel is named after the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious, who at all times patronized the Russian army. Now submariners come to the chapel for a blessing before going on another hike.
- Guided tours in consultation with Archpriest Sergius by phone +7 911 307 85 43.
