  • The geological park is located between the buildings of the Mining Institute of the Federal Research Center of the KSC RAS ​​and the Murmansk Geological Prospecting Expedition on Fersman Street. Its opening took place on August 30, 1996, on the day of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the city of Apatity.
    • The idea of ​​creating an open-air park belongs to the employee of the Geological Institute Aleksey Basalaev. The park layout was developed by the architect A. Nikolaev. Mining enterprises and geological organizations of the region took part in the creation of the park.
    • It is the world's first open-air geological park.
