A terrible disaster in peacetime. 28 sailors gave their lives in the fight to save the boat and other crew members.

Their names are forever immortalized in the granite of the monument.

The monument of an unknown author was erected in 1973 at the cemetery of the Kislaya Bay. Reconstruction was carried out in 2010.
