Tonya Tetrina Historical and Ethnographic Complex

Tonya "Tetrina" is located 30 km from Umba on the Turiy Peninsula. You can get to this secluded place only at low tide 2 times a day. Those who will be

The first mention of Tony "Tetrina" dates back to the XV century. It was one of those old-timers who began the development of the Kola North, later called part of the Russian North. The beginning of any Pomeranian village was the sea farm — tonya (emphasis on the last syllable). According to the documents, tonya has been known since the XV century, but in fact it was built in the XII century.



Tonya "Tetrina" has been restored to its former place as reliably as possible and functions as an open-air historical and ethnographic complex. Here you can spend your vacation, feel like a real pomor, go to sea with us and delve into the history of the peoples of the North. There are hundreds of exhibits in the fund of the complex, some of them continue their work



Tony's story is a reflection of the life and development of the culture of the Pomors — Russian people who found themselves on the White Sea. This museum tells about the history of the Kola North from the indigenous population — the Lapps, before the appearance of the first Russian settlers, from the power of Veliky Novgorod to the present. There are three expositions — the Sami rate, the Pomeranian tonya, the WWII exposition in the Kandalaksha and Murmansk directions.



Tonya "Tetrina" is waiting for you both for general excursions and for a longer stop with accommodation in a hut or a plague. During the rest, you can go to the sauna, take a bath with seaweed and taste traditional Pomeranian dishes in dishes that are a reconstruction of ancient ceramics.



We will tell you about the history of Tony, the life of the Pomors, we will conduct historical experiments and master classes so that each guest can not only hear the story, but also taste it, inhale it with his nose, touch it with his hands. We make the spirit of the times tangible!
