The largest glucophone in the world

In the capital of the Kola Arctic Region, the world's largest glucophone is installed – a percussion musical instrument, which is called the "Sun-drum".

The art object is located on the southern slope of the Green Cape hill.

The idea of the art object belongs to the architect from Moscow, Alexandra Weld Queen. The SAF itself (small architectural form) was created in her workshop, delivered to Murmansk by transport. But it had to be lifted up the mountain manually, while the total weight of the structure is more than six hundred kilograms.                        

"According to the author's idea, the sounds that this huge glucophone makes should harmonize and complement the sounds of the port, which are part of Murmansk, his voice. Create a good mood and give harmony and peace to those who play. And in its reverse side, which is turned towards the city, the sun should be reflected, " said architect Alexey Arushanyan.
