The reserve
consists of three sections "Kaita", "Suroyva" and "Vodyanaya".


The territory of the reserve is located in the extreme south-west of the Murmansk region in
the immediate vicinity of the Kandalaksha Bay of the White Sea.


The
lake Imandra is adjacent to it from the northeast, from the south-east – the Knyazhegubsky reservoir. The western
border of "Kaita" is located about 50 km from the line of the state border of Russia
with Finland.
