Trekking trail to Volosyanaya Mountain
Add to the journey
The trail to Volosyanaya Mountain originates from the parking lot, on the left side before the pass along the Kandalaksha-Umba highway. The length of the trail is almost 3 kilometers.
The height of the mountain is 475 meters above sea level. There is an ancient temple on Volosyanaya Mountain, which is the largest accumulation of seids in the Kandalaksha district — more than 200 stones. From here you can enjoy beautiful views of the Kandalaksha Bay of the White Sea and the islands of the world's first marine reserve — Kandalaksha (here it would be good to link to the page of the Kandalaksha Reserve).
The trail is accessible to people of all ages, including children. However, it must be remembered that you have to climb uphill, sometimes quite steep, so you need to calculate your strength and take into account the peculiarities of health and physical fitness. The passage time is 2.5-3 hours.
In winter, snowshoes or skitur skis are recommended. The trail is also used as a track for downhill mountain biking and trail races.
