The Heroes-Pilots Square is named so in memory of the military and post
-war aviation pages of history.
Once a regular stop from which buses went to the Kola NPP, the concrete platform turned into the square of Heroes-Pilots.
In 2002, a monument was erected on it – the symbol of northern aviation, the MIG-19 aircraft – the first Soviet supersonic fighter, which was considered one of the best military vehicles and the pride of the Soviet
armed forces.
Today, it is a favorite place for citizens to relax here. Festive events are held on memorable dates. The most striking of them is the procession of the Immortal Regiment.
