The village of Kolvitsa is located 30 km from Kandalaksha towards Umba. Don't drive by! The concentration of beauty here is incredible. The settlement is located on two banks of the Kolvitsa River, which also flows into the Kandalaksha Bay of the White Sea here - it will be interesting to watch the tides of the sea.

The ecological trail is open to the public and begins immediately after the bridge over the river on the left bank. The total length of the trail is 12 km, but everyone chooses how much to walk. From the bridge to the Black Padun waterfall – 600 meters.

At the waterfall, there is an information stand telling about the history of these places. There are also several information signs about interesting natural objects on the trail.

We offer you to go on a trip to the beautiful surroundings of the city of Kandalaksha and admire the beautiful waterfalls.

This route is designed for tourists with a car, on which you can go from Kandalaksha to the village of Kolvitsa, stopping at several points along the way (the distance is indicated approximately, taking into account the trip in both directions).

The first point of the route is the observation deck behind the pass, where an amazing view of the Kandalaksha Bay and its islands opens. Next, we suggest you make a stop in the village of Luvenga, where you can get acquainted with the stone art objects installed by the Kandalaksha artist Valentin Myzdrikov, as well as arrange a short rest and breathe the sea air on the observation deck.

In the village of Kolvitsa, you can park your car in front of the bridge over the Kolvitsa River, or on the other side of the river by crossing the bridge. Here, on a hillock near the bridge, a group of activists led by Valentin Myzdrikov in 2017 completed the construction of the Chapel of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, as well as the memorial complex "Memory of Kolvitsa".

Then, going on foot along the path along the river upstream, you will reach the Kolvitsky waterfalls.
