Military-patriotic tourism in the Murmansk region

Murmansk is a hero city that played an important role during the Great Patriotic War. The memory of the battles, exploits of soldiers, home front workers and civilians is immortalized in memorial complexes and monuments of the Kola North.

The feat of the defenders of the Kola land during the Great Patriotic War was immortalized in monumental sculptures and museums of the Murmansk region.

The largest number of monuments is located on the territory of the Pechenga district, where large-scale battles took place.
A significant part of the facilities are located in closed administrative-territorial formations, where large naval and aviation bases operated during the Great Patriotic War.
A number of monuments are located near the coast of the Barents Sea, testifying to the combat activity of the Northern Fleet and amphibious operations.

Tourist programs include visits to the most interesting museums of aviation, military equipment, the Yuri Gagarin Museum, aircraft and helicopter hangars.

Every year on the last Sunday of July, residents and guests of the Arctic region can watch the naval parade in honor of the Navy Day in Severomorsk - the capital of the Northern Fleet of Russia.

Pay attentionVisiting Closed administrative-territorial entities (BUT) is possible only with a pre-issued pass (registration time is up to 30 calendar days for citizens of the Russian Federation).
